 EGT SENDER

>>polish version<<

There are a short description deal with G235 and G236 exhaust gas temperature EGT senders problems. OEM name of the probe could be 06A 919 529 or 078 919 529. EGT senders are designed to protect turbochargers against thrermal shock and overheating.

Damaged EGT sensors set ECU in safe mode to prevent
engine parts further destruction. In this "safe mode" turbocharged engine works almost like normally aspirated one.

ECU memory faults DTC's conectted with G235 or/and G236 are listed below:

17861 P1453 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 open/short to B+
17862 P1454 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 short to ground
17863 P1455 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 range/performance
17864 P1456 Exhaust gas temperature control bank 1 limit attained
17865 P1457 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 open/short to B+
17866 P1458 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 short to ground
17867 P1459 Exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 range/performance
17868 P1460 Exhaust gas temperature control bank 2 limit attained

After my private investigation ;-) it turned out, that the main problem is not a thermocouple (as I supposed before) but electronic circuit. Because electronic is my hobby I decided to save some money and mend a sensors my self.

For now I will present only photos as a description of repairation process.
